Drunk driving is a serious problem in the state of Wisconsin. Many offenders are not only first time offenders, but continue to drive under the influence. This affects not only the person driving, but everyone on our roadways. The people below have been arrested for 4 or more offenses of operating while under the influence.  

No claims to the accuracy of this information are made. The information and photos presented on this site have been collected from the websites of County Sheriff's Offices or Clerk of Courts. The people featured on this site may not have been convicted of the charges or crimes listed and are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Do not rely on this site to determine factual criminal evidence. Booking charges are usually amended with modifiers at initial court appearances. Charges may change without notice as a result of plea bargaining, court hearings, or jury trials.

-If you are over the age of 21, law defines the following four items as driving while intoxicated:

1. Driving with BAC (blood alcohol content) of 0.08% or higher
2. Driving while under the influence of an intoxicant, including alcohol, legal prescription medications, illegal/controlled drugs, or other chemical substances.
3. Driving with a detectable amount of any controlled substance in the blood stream.
4. Driving while under the influence of a controlled substance or any other drug.

Refusal To Test

If you are placed under arrest and refuse to give a blood or breath sample when asked, you can incur additional penalties - losing driver's license, possible jail time, and monetary fines.

First Offense OWI Penalties

• Fine between $150 and $300
• OWI Surcharge of $365
• License suspension of 6 to 9 months, able to obtain occupational license
• Assessment of alcohol and/or drug use
• Ignition Interlock Device depending on blood-alcohol content level

Subsequent Convictions

First conviction penalties are geared toward educating the person and changing their habits. Second and subsequent offenses do not have the same leniency. Fines, license suspensions, and driving record points increase for each additional conviction - and include mandatory jail time.

Ignition Interlock Devices (IID)

Ignition interlock devices are mandatory for a minimum of 1 year in the following situations:

• More than one OWI
• Refusing a blood or breathalyzer test
• First offenses with BAC of 0.15% or higher
