Brown County Brouhaha - August 2018

Inspired by Rick and Len’s legendary Small Town Crime Wave, Brown County Brouhaha recaps some of the month’s more noteworthy calls made through the Brown County dispatch. Sometimes tragic, often times hysterical, Brown County Brouhaha is a harsh reminder of what our public servants deal with on a day-to-day basis. Thanks to all who contributed. Pine St – Couple having relations in parked car

9:18 am – 8/1/18

Holmgren @ Willard – Complainant reporting an ordinance violation – a dump truck driver threw a coffee out the window

200 block S. Webster – Disturbance – complainant stating neighbor swore and spit at his mother

600 block Phoebe – Male party on the line, all he kept saying was he didn’t lay his hands on anyone, would not answer any questions

• UPDATE: 10:28 pm – Female party now on the line saying her face is swollen
• 10:30 pm – Male now on the line stating he was stabbed

1587 Shawano – McDonald’s – Male party passed out in the drive thru

2100 block Imperial Ln – Disturbance that’s been “going on all day” – male party involved in the disturbance threw urine on the complainant at one point

800 block Christiana St – Report of a black male wearing a white tee shirt & jeans walking down the street “screaming demonic statements”

10:35 am – 8/3/18

1000 block Caroline – Intoxicated male lying in the bushes w/ his boxers down – EMS & PD en route

Karl St – Complainant states there’s a female on a riding lawn mower w/ a toddler on her lap, concerned for the welfare of the child

1400 block Western Ave – Complainant received a package in the mail with his name on it, thinks this is suspicious because he did not order anything

3:50 pm – 8/4/18

1800 block Susan Ln – Verbal disturbance between neighbors – it’s over a child taking a stick from the other neighbor’s yard

S Quincy – Male party called in on 911 stating his neighbors are always outside drinking – he was uncooperative w/ call taker and hung up

1100 block Radisson – Disturbance that’s now over with – female party threw sugar at an employee – she has since left – comp would like no trespass order on the female

2100 block Farlin Ave – Noise complaint – complainant did try asking them to turn the music down and they yelled at them

Crooks St – Teen home alone hears someone inside their house, is currently locked in the basement waiting for police

500 block N Henry – Intoxicated male lying on the ground – he’s swinging his arms and trying to crawl on the sidewalk

Main @ Monroe – Male party dancing in the street (this is at least the 3^rd call on him in the past couple of days)

300 block 3^rd Ave – Pulaski – Roof is falling off the old canning company – strong winds or a small tornado may have passed through – no injuries

300 block S. Webster – Comp was in an argument on Facebook with 3 females and now they’re here to fight

S St. Augustine – Complainant stating neighbors are spraying in their garden and listening in on their phone conversations

Forestville Dr – Male party got into a verbal argument over his dog defecating on complainant’s property – male white, 60’s, gray sweatshirt

6:52 pm – 8/8/18

Velp @ Riverview – Physical altercation that happened at the intersection – a male party in a red pickup truck wrapped a chain around his hand and went to another subject’s black sedan and punched him in the face – complainant is only a witness – both parties have left the scene

Hoffman Rd – EMS for male party who has taken too much Ecstasy

Main St parking ramp – Report of a naked male on top of the ramp making “inappropriate ‘inaudible’” – he is now at the library courtyard – caller has some of this on video to show officers

800 block Main St – Whitney Park – Intoxicated male antagonizing complainant’s dog

Laverne Dr – Caller let a homeless female spend the night and now she’s refusing to leave – both parties are now verbal in the garage

Division @ Gray – Complainant states about ten minutes ago a dark green truck in the area occupied by one black male tried to get her juvenile sister into the vehicle

Mather @ Chestnut – Male party was just shot by a pellet gun – unknown where it came from – is refusing rescue

1705 S Webster – Subway – Vehicle vs. building – female party hit the curb and then the building

Area of Lombardi & S Ridge – Police performing a felony stop on white Chevy Impala

• UPDATE: 2:20 pm – Suspect detained

Dousman @ Broadway – Female party got out of a vehicle and started beating on complainant’s vehicle w/ her fists

900 block Grant St – truck on fire

1000 block Shawano Ave – Complainant states his wife thought she saw an unknown male walking in their living room. Stating they always lock their doors but found one unlocked. They checked the upper floor but have not gone into the basement. Concerned about the alley behind the home

• UPDATE: 11:53 pm – Officer made contact w/ a male in the back

100 block Dauphin – Multiple kids doing Ding Dong Ditch throughout the night

Area of Woodale @ Hillcrest Heights – Two juveniles destroyed a porta potty and drove off on four wheelers

1300 block Doblon St - STRUCTURE FIRE - smoke & flames - no injuries (news story)

6:17 pm – 8/12/18

Physical disturbance that occurred at Bay Shore Park – suspect is a client that was physical w/ his caretaker – party has a broken nose but refused rescue – there is staff on scene and believe client will be cooperative w/ officers

5:21 pm – 8/13/18

2700 block Ontario Rd – Grill on fire, has spread to the deck – evacuating – FD en route (news story)

8 pm – 8/13/18

Intersection of Mather @ Chestnut – Male party just punched complainant’s vehicle – this is the same male that tried to beat up complainant the other day

3:40 am – 8/14/18

200 block Main St – Male party w/ a crowbar came into the lobby saying he beat up a male outside who was trying to break into vehicles

• UPDATE: 3:41 am – Both males are now gone on foot, police looking for male subject who should have substantial injuries
• **The male who was breaking into vehicles was possibly Native or Hispanic, possibly homeless, wearing a gray shirt, unknown color pants, no shoes, just socks
• **Male who beat up suspect is a male white, reddish hair, red shirt
• 4:02 am – Weapon used was a large screwdriver, not a crowbar, officer just found it in the lot
• **Blood trail between vehicles, both vehicles have out of state plates
• 4:10 am – Officer out w/ victim in PD parking lot, requesting rescue for possible broken jaw
• 4:12 am – Officer out w/ male wearing red shirt in front of Hagemeister

500 block Fortune Ave – Caller saying something about their son’s hand possibly being stuck in a door, seems confused, not answering questions – rescue & PD en route

• UPDATE: Caller now stating 10 year old’s hand went into the automatic stairs
• **Officer: “Can we confirm address?”
• **Female caller saying she can see officer’s car but won’t flag it down – “She’s not giving an inch”
• (Phone plotting to Trojan Dr – same number dispatch received yesterday regarding a female who stated she was on meth and experiencing paranoia)
• 4:41 am – Officers can see a female standing out front on the phone at Trojan address, going to make contact w/ her
• 4:42 am – Dispatch: “It’s definitely her, can hear PD in the background”

Pine St @ Monroe – Check welfare of male party pounding on the walls of a vacant building and hitting himself in the head w/ his fists – male white, 20’s, dark colored shirt

800 block E Walnut – WEAPONS CALL – shots fired, male party standing behind a tree w/ a handgun (news story)

200 block S Webster – report of a vehicle full of goats in the parking lot

Farlin Ave – female/female physical disturbance – fight started over the theft of a steak knife

W Walnut – Kwik Trip – Officer was flagged down by male party who stated his 2013 red Ford Focus was just stolen from the parking lot

• UPDATE: 6:19 am – Dispatch received a call from Outagamie County, a male called in on 911 stating he was behind the stolen vehicle  - the male witnessed the auto theft at Kwik Trip and followed it to Kaukauna. GBPD en route

3800 block School Ln – There’s a peacock looking into the complainant’s window, seems friendly

Mather & Melrose – WEAPONS CALL – male party w/ a machete & brass knuckles - male white, 120 lbs, beard. Prior verbal disturbance in 600 block Vroman St.

Brown County – Funeral home – passerby called in flames & black smoke shooting out the building - spoke to someone on scene who stated they were doing a cremation that “got a little out of hand”

Brown County – Check the welfare of female party who states her house is haunted by a cat

Elm St – WEAPONS CALL – male/female disturbance – female is in the kitchen w/ a large knife – male is locked in a bedroom and unable to let officers in

41 NB S of Lineville – Vehicle’s occupants are smoking out of a bong, vehicle is swerving

3:05 pm – 8/16/18

W Mason – Big Lots – intoxicated male passed out on a sofa inside the store

Wal-Mart – Male party took a taxi from Wal-Mart west to Wal-Mart east and is now refusing to pay

S Ridge Rd – Someone left coals burning behind Ace Hardware by the dumpster – smoke & flames

Main St – Cop on a Rooftop FUNdraiser for Special Olympics

Wanted fugitive Mr. Sprinkles was taken into custody without incident and was later released on a two dozen donuts signature bond

11:01 am – 8/17/18

41 SB ramp to Scheuring – vehicle fire, fully engulfed

• UPDATE: Female driver fled scene and was found a short time later. Female fled due to being on probation/paper for multiple OWIs

500 block W Walnut – Retail theft changed to a disturbance – female party taken into custody

• NOTE: There was also a male party involved, sounded like he fled before officers arrived

Elm St – Complainant stating the mother of his children just broke into the house and is hitting him w/ a stick

Shawano Ave – Female party in the backyard saying “People in the sky are watching me” – complainant thinks she may be on drugs

800 block Stuart St – Navarino Park – Complainant states ex boyfriend threw all her clothes in the porta potty

400 block S Ashland – Structure fire – no injuries

500 block Irene St – Male party sitting in the same spot for several hours – complainant thinks he may be on something – male black, wearing all black, backpack

5500 block North Ave – Caller stating they have a rabid skunk in their yard that needs to be shot

100 block N Military – Male party was staring at customers – he then went into the bathroom and came out w/out a shirt on

From what we know there was a vehicle chase involving a female party that ended on St Agnes – female was taken into custody

100 block N Military – Caller was approached by a male party who asked the complainant if they wanted to “fool around” back in a wooded area of the park

Copper @ Lime Kiln – Report of liquid manure in the roadway

Kellogg – Male/male verbal, one of the males has a rock in his hand, is intoxicated

• UPDATE: Officer: “Step it up. Knife”

2300 block Velp – Female/female physical disturbance – one female was dragging the other across the parking lot

Brown County – Comp stated that she had locked her patio, hopped into the shower, and when she came out of the shower the light fixture in her kitchen was taken down

County Line Rd – Disturbance between complainant’s boyfriend and his boss – the boss is refusing to pay complainant due to him quitting – the suspect also threatened to break his fingers

Dousman @ Military – male/female physical disturbance – male reportedly choked female at the park – male taken into custody

UPDATE: Bullet hole found at residence – suspect taken into custody (news story)

Coast Guard calling regarding a dead pelican – believe police should look at the dead pelican sue to the nature of its death – pelican is on Coast Guard property near the rocks

S Ashland – 10 year old male called in on 911 because he had some questions about some Packers being arrested – he is currently at a friend’s house – he was told by call taker what 911 was for – child may or may not be en route to the park

1400 block Admiral Ct – WEAPONS CALL – disturbance involving a single gunshot fired straight up in the sky – suspect in custody

Mohican Ct – Complainant received two packages from China consisting of only bubble wrap – thinks this is suspicious and wants them checked out

Ashland Ave (unsure if N or S) – Report of a female party blowing meth into a cat’s face, animal neglect
