Why he is being detained.
On April 3, 2023 the court held an initial appearance for the defendant upon arrest on a
warrant issued for violation of conditions of supervised release. The government is seeking
detention. The defendant did not take a position but reserved the right to argue at a later date. The
probation report reveals the defendant had an Xbox One controller, an Xbox 360, and an android
phone. The defendant refused to provide his agent with his phone’s password. The defendant has
pending charges in Rock County, and he committed the alleged violations while on State Lifetime
Sex Offender supervision.
The court concludes from the evidence presented and review of the probation report that no condition or combination of conditions will assure the defendant’s appearance or the safety of the community if the defendant were to be released. Therefore, detention is warranted and the defendant will be detained.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the defendant, John Perry-Rydz be and hereby is committed to the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending further proceedings before Judge William C. Griesbach.
